walker_vitteta_dodge_smlINFERNO Gallery presents a group show of three East Bay Photographers: Mimi Vitetta, Ren Dodge, and Lia Walker. Vitetta produces photographs that are familiar bay area images digitally enhanced and presented in light boxes. The overall feel is a surreal somewhat haunting vision of the world around her. Dodge has produced a series of photographs in his Human Polaroid. Reminiscent of carnival booths and a tradition of photography long passed, Dodge steps inside his human sized camera and takes portraits, sometimes with multiple exposures. The result are long exposure images that capture the soul of the subject in a time machine like manner. Walker creates elaborate stage settings that magnify the subjects of her portraits with whimsical decoration and brilliant use of color and light. The show opens July 25th, 6 to 9pm and is up through August 16th, 2014. INFERNO gallery is located in the Vulcan Lofts at 4401 San Leandro St. Oakland, CA 94601

Opening Reception for the Artists:
June 27th

6 to 9pm

James Shefik creates thought provoking work that confronts the viewer intellectually and visually. He has an uncanny ability to create objects and scenarios that touch pressure points in pop culture.

Anne Ross pushes the limits of photography using traditional and alternative methods that result in surreal spaces that are dark and pensive.

Dickson Schneider creates paintings of large eyed suave female and male figures, beautiful and lithe, that are sensuous and speak of the overwhelming hubris of the art world.

Join us for an incredible evening of sculpture, photography and painting. This show is not to be missed!
