OPENING RECEPTION: FRIDAY NOVEMBER 19th, 2010

Artist Ren Dodge taps into the reflection and possibilities of how landscape interacts with the body. Using multiple screens and video projection Dodge creates layered landscapes in which the viewer is invited to move within the video projections. This installation explores the urban environment and the way in which the art work is a manifestation or metaphor for the way our bodies define our relationship to landscape. By traversing the video space participants will become the artwork and are given opportunity to reflect in the subtleties of being in a created landscape.

Help the Artist! The ethereal nature of video installation artwork is such that it does not afford the artist the opportunity to fund his work by selling pieces of art. For this reason Ren Dodge is using a fund raising Web site to secure funds to pay for video projectors, screens and other items needed to produce this piece. You can help by visiting the page Ren has made at Kickstarter. Your help is greatly appreciated and it is a direct way that you can help support the arts! (There will be a closing event held in December 12th from 11am to 2pm.)

ALSO JOINING US FOR THE OPENING WILL BE: the Roll-Up Bike Shop and Fist of Flour Pizza. The Roll-Up will have a Skateboard Art show and Fist of Flour Pizza will be in the front of the INFERNO serving up piping hot Brick oven pizza and Calzone.

INFERNO along with these businesses are East Oakland originals. Come and support the arts, bicycling and eat pizza!
